Ongoing throughout exhibit:
- Cookbook Exhibit: Local and church cookbooks have been donated by generous churches and individuals around Southern Maryland. These cookbooks will be on display at the Calvert Library Prince Frederick so people can browse through them, make copies of the recipes that sound great, and even get the information to purchase copies of the ones still available for sale.
- Seafood Industry Exhibit created by Calvert Marine Museum at the Calvert Library Prince Frederick.
- Each Calvert Library Branch will have an Odd Kitchen Utensil Exhibit! Borrowed from local museums and home kitchens, all of these tools were once used to speed up work in the kitchen. Ponder the evolution of kitchen gadgets and see if you can guess for what purpose each tool was made.
Beginning Nov. 16, 2007
- Recipe Contest: Think your recipe is good enough to be featured at one of Southern Maryland's finest restaurant? Six winning recipes will be served for a week at one of the following restaurants: Café des Artistes, The Crossing at Casey Jones, Jake & Al's Chophouse, The Tides, Saphron and West Lawn Inn. Deadine for submission is January 22, 2008. Click here for detailed rules.
- Place Mat Art Exhibit for 4th - 8th graders: Create a flat 11x17 placemat using markers, paint, photos, colored pencil, ink, crayons, or torn paper collage using the theme "Food & Family Traditions".
